A Fritz Lang printed document, SIGNED and a Thea von Harbou sepia postcard photograph, SIGNED. The Fritz Lang signed document is his annual filing with the Directors Guild of America for his 1971 membership dues. One 8 x 10-inch leaf. Boldly signed Fritz Lang. The Thea von Harbou sepia postcard photograph shows von Harbou and her dog, and is signed in full by her and also signed with the name of her dog. The photo is dated 13th February 1927, just a year after the cinematic SF masterpiece, METROPOLIS, was released. This grouping of autographs unwillingly re-unites Fritz Lang with his wife, Thea von Harbou, whom he divorced in 1932, after she joined the Nazi Party. Lang left Germany in 1933, after he had trouble with the Nazis. Back in 1926, Lang and his then wife, von Harbou, worked together on his 1926 silent film, METROPOLIS, which is considered to be the most important science fiction film of the silent film era. These autographs are very handsomely framed with black-and-white photographs of Lang and of the robot from METROPOLIS, employing a four-window black mat with white core and burgundy fillets with white cores, under glass, with a hardwood frame with burgundy highlights and a darker bead.
