5.5X8 official German document dated August 25, 1943 giving Paul Hartmann a second class badge. Signed in pencil by Ferdinand Neuling. Comes with a vintage photograph of him. Folding crease and some wear, otherwise, in very good condition. In September 1939, German troops under his command occupied the Polish part of Upper Silesia and cities of Katowice, MikoÅ, ów, Chorzów, committing numerous war crimes on Polish civilians and resistance fighters.
