





















Offered – Interesting document signed by Pennsylvania Governor, Civil War General, and. Medal of Honor recipient. The document was signed during his governorship and is an order for discharge for a Harry B. Braddock who was being held in Chester County Prison, West Chester, PA. The document comes with a letter explaining that the original certificate was mistakenly sent to Norristown, Montgomery County, therefore this document is marked as a duplicate in red ink. The discharge document is signed by Governor Hartranft, known to have a battle-hardened yet forgiving heart, at the top left. Hantranft oversaw the execution of President Lincoln’s assassins in July of 1865. Age – Dated 1873. Condition – The signed document is very good with some light discolorations, fold lines, two small holes where the fold lines cross. The mailing cover is fair with wear and discolorations. The letter accompanying the document is in very good condition.
